Kirchentag! Kirchentag! Kirchentag!

by Hannah from India. Kirchentag started a little early at the Referat with the arrival of international guests at the Referat ökumene on the 15th of June.  We started off with 30 international guests from nine different countries, all of them have been delegates from partner churches and partner organisations of the Church of Dortmund. Our sessions kicked off with fun introduction games, discussions, different views, Dortmund sightseeing and a lot of info about the forthcoming Kirchentag.

Multi-gifted

By Josephat from Tanzania …and so I have one week now in Dortmund. It all started with a warm welcome I got at Dusseldorf airport on 25th May (with receiving a Borussia Dortmund scarf as a gift). I have been over a great deal of exploring this new world to me. From the weather, food, transport, community gatherings and hangouts. I also couldn‘t wait to see Signal Iduna Stadium: the Borussia Dortmund home stadium, and it felt just like heaven to me, you know what I mean?

Together we form the world

by Rachel from Hongkong From 23.4.2019 to 27.4.2019 I took part in the first Seminar of the South-North Volunteer Programme by the United Evangelical Mission (UEM). The seminar took place in Bremen which is the city of fairy tale and the destination of the four musicians. Bremen is really a wonderful city. I am totally fall for it when the river Weser reflects silver lights under the shiny Sun. After the seminar, not only does the sunshine make me feel warm, but also the people I met in these days. This is the first time for us to meet each other. We all come from different countries with different background. Together we form the world.

SEE YOU SOON DORTMUND

by Josephat Hema from Tanzania   I am a football fan, but just moderately. On Saturday, 25 May 2013, at Wembley Stadium in London, England, there was a clash between German Bundesliga clubs Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich. It was a UEFA Champions league final. Since i previously was not following the Bundesliga, i had to randomly pick between the two teams to side with, and I took Borussia Dortmund’s side. The sad part of the story is we lost the game, unfortunately.

Garden Day in the Volunteershouse

by Dika from Indonesia This blog will tell the excitement in cleaning and caring for plants in the Volunteerhaus with friends. Work done together makes work lighter and more enjoyable! And the photo above is our team from the Garden Day at 13 April 2019. Before starting Gartentag (the German term for Garden Day, as we usually say, even when we talk English), we start with eating together to fill energy and warm ourself before starting work. It was still snowing in April and the air was quite cold, but fortunately at 11am, the sun began to come out and the air did not get too cold. Then we began to divide the tasks: some cut grass with machines, some cut trees, swept the yard, planted flower, etc. When cleaning the yard so that
