Hello! My name is Grace Theopiste Musengimana, and I’m so excited to be joining you all at UEM starting on April 1, 2025. I’m 22 years old, and I come from a family of five, where I’m the firstborn and the only girl. Growing up in a pastor’s family has given me a unique perspective on service and community. My father’s work with UEM in Tanzania, Cameroon, and South Africa has been a big inspiration for me. I’ve always admired the personal growth, cultural exchanges, and lasting relationships he built through volunteer work, and I’ve carried that passion for helping others with me.

Currently, I’m studying Natural Resources and Environmental Management at the Protestant University of Rwanda (PUR). Environmental sustainability is something I care deeply about, and I’m looking forward to learning more about how to address these issues on a global scale during my time in the program. Alongside my studies, I also work as a pre-nursery teacher at Cornerstone International School (CIS), where I’ve had the chance to develop skills in classroom management, creating nurturing environments, and working closely with children. The joy I see when my students accomplish something new or share little moments like bringing me flowers is incredibly fulfilling.

Outside of my studies and work, I’m someone who loves to sing, especially gospel songs, and I find peace in praying. I enjoy spending time with friends, doing art and crafts, and most of all, I have a special love for flowers—they bring me so much joy and calmness. I believe in the importance of balance, so I always try to make time for things that make me happy.

I’m really looking forward to getting to know everyone and to the opportunity to contribute and grow during my time with UEM. I’m excited for the experiences ahead and can’t wait to begin this journey with you all!
