‚Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes, and having fun‘ – Mary Lou CookOur Global Garden upcycling workshop took place on the 30 th May 2019 at the Volunteershaus, though it was a public holiday and everyone was relaxing back home, our house was full with creative people of all ages, cutting, gluing, painting, drawing, noising anddancing.

Nele, Daya (fom MÖWe) and I started our early day by picking up freshly baked bread from the bakery, we decided to also make a delicious lentil soup for Lunch. As our preparations for the day were almost finished, our Door bell started ringing and one by one came in our participants for the Workshop. We started with a bring and share breakfast, sat with each other in a long table chatted, laughed ate and bonded together.

After our breakfast, Nele and I introduced ourselves and the Global Garden project bilingually, soon everyone geared up with all the materials and brought out the creative kid inside them. Some made flowers, some made table decors, some decorated bottles, some painted and some invented new things.

With a little bit of music and a lot of creativity, we managed to cross off every item in our to do list. Our day ended with a ton of creative and colourful items, a slice of cake and a warm cup of coffee.
