Was ist das Volunteershouse?

Das Internationale Volunteershouse in Dortmund ist ein Ort inter- und transkulturellen Lebens und Lernens. Es wurde im April 2018 eröffnet, um jungen Menschen aus dem Globalen Norden und dem Globalen Süden die Chance zu geben, neue Formen des Miteinanders zu entwickeln. Freiwillige aus sechs verschiedenen Ländern leben dort zusammen.

Wer hat das Projekt initiiert?

Initiiert wurde das Projekt vom Referat Ökumene im Evangelischen Kirchenkreis Dortmund. Finanziell wird das Volunteershouse vom Evangelischen Kirchenkreis Dortmund und der Evangelischen Kirche von Westfalen (EKvW). Freiwillige aus dem Globalen Süden kommen über verschiedenen weltwärts-Aufnahmeorganisationen (Deutsch-Indische Zusammenarbeit e.V., Vereinte Evangelische Mission) nach Deutschland.

Warum bloggen wir?

Fast von Beginn an haben wir mit dem Bloggen gestartet. Das Schreiben dieses Blogs ist für uns ein Ausdruck unserer Gefühle und Erfahrungen. Der Blog wird verschiedene inspirierende Geschichten, Dokumentationen, Umfragen, Kunst, Kultur und was auch immer beinhalten!
Hier halten wir fest, was wir während unserer Zeit in Dortmund und unseres Lebens im Volunteershouse erfahren und erleben.

Wir sind uns sicher, dass wir viel vom Wesen der deutschen Kultur und Lebensart erfahren werden und freuen uns auf das Bloggen.

What is the volunteershouse?

The International Volunteershouse in Dortmund is a place of intercultural and transcultural life and learning. It opened in April 2018 to give young people from the Global North and the Global South the opportunity to develop new forms of cooperation. Volunteers from six different countries live together in the volunteer house.

Who initiated the project?

The project was initiated by the Department of Ecumenism in the Evangelical Church of Dortmund. The Evangelical Church of Dortmund and the Evangelical Church of Westphalia (EKVW) are financing the Volunteershouse. Volunteers from the Global South come to Germany via various weltwärts host organizations (German-Indian Cooperation e.V., United Evangelical Mission).

Why are we blogging?

Almost from the beginning we started blogging. Writing this blog is an expression of our feelings, emotions and experiences. The blog will include various inspirational stories, documentaries, polls, art, culture and whatever!
Here we note what we experience during our volunteer service in Dortmund and our life in the volunteer house.

We are sure that we will experience the different tastes and the essence of the German culture and way of life, and we are looking forward to blogging.
