My name is Ignatia Amorè Letichia !Haoses, a 23 year old Volunteer from Namibia. Being here in Germany still feels unreal at times. There are moments when I pause, take a deep breath, and realize just how far I am from everything I once knew and how much I’ve grown because of it.
Leaving home wasn’t easy. It meant stepping into the unknown, learning new ways of living, and trusting myself in spaces where I once felt small. Germany has challenged me, but it has also embraced me. Every street I walk, every new face I meet, and every quiet moment alone has taught me something about resilience, courage, and self-belief.
One of the most beautiful highlights of this journey was celebrating my birthday in Paris. Spending such a special day in a city so full of love and history felt like a gentle reminder that life can be incredibly kind. Paris didn’t just feel like a destination , it felt like a reward for every risk I took and every fear I faced. I’ll forever carry that birthday in my heart.
Here in Germany, the Volunteers House has become my safe space. It’s more than just a place to sleep, it’s a place filled with warmth, laughter, and shared humanity. Living with other volunteers, all carrying their own stories and dreams, reminds me that even far from home, I am never truly alone.
This journey has taught me that growth is often uncomfortable, but it is also beautiful. I am learning to trust myself, to embrace uncertainty, and to find joy in the smallest moments. Being here has shaped me in ways I never expected, and I’m deeply grateful for every experience the hard ones and the beautiful ones alike.
Germany is not just where I am right now, it’s where I’m becoming 🌱✨
