Was ist das Internationale Volunteershouse?
Das Internationale Volunteershouse in Dortmund ist ein Ort inter- und transkulturellen Lebens und Lernens. Es wurde im April 2018 eröffnet, um jungen Menschen aus dem Globalen Norden und dem Globalen Süden die Chance zu geben, neue Formen des Miteinanders zu entwickeln. Freiwillige aus sechs verschiedenen Ländern leben zusammen im Volunteershouse.
What is the international volunteershouse?
The International Volunteershouse in Dortmund is a place of intercultural and transcultural life and learning. It opened in April 2018 to give young people from the Global North and the Global South the opportunity to develop new forms of cooperation. Volunteers from six different countries live together in the volunteerhouse.

Mein Name ist Ignatia Amorè Letichia !Haoses, eine 23-jährige Freiwillige aus Namibia. Hier in Deutschland zu sein fühlt sich manchmal noch unwirklich an. Es gibt Momente, in denen ich innehalte, tief durchatme und mir bewusst werde, wie weit ich von allem entfernt bin, was ich einst kannte und wie sehr ich genau daran gewachsen bin.
Meine ersten 6 Monate in Deutschland

Ich bin jetzt sechs Monate in Deutschland, eines meiner größten Ziele war es, innerhalb kurzer Zeit fließend Deutsch zu sprechen und eine hilfreiche Person in meiner Einsatzstelle zu sein. Ein halbes Jahr später kann ich sagen, dass ich, obwohl ich noch nicht fließend spreche, viel besser Deutsch verstehe und spreche als zuvor. (mehr …)

Bevor ich nach Deutschland kam, hatte ich große Hoffnungen und Träume. Ich freute mich darauf, eine neue Kultur zu entdecken, meine Deutschkenntnisse zu verbessern, geistig zu wachsen und in meiner Einsatzstelle zuverlässig zu arbeiten. My name is Ignatia Amorè Letichia !Haoses, a 23 year old Volunteer from Namibia. Being here in Germany still feels unreal at times. There are moments when I pause, take a deep breath, and realize just how far I am from everything I once knew and how much I’ve grown because of it.
My first 6 months in Germany

Its six months now in Germany, one of my biggest goals was to become fluent in German within a short period of time and be a helpful person in my placement. Six months later, I can say that even though I am not yet fluent, I am able to understand and speak German much better than before. (mehr …)

Before arriving in Germany, I had high hopes and dreams. I looked forward to discovering a new culture, improving my German language skills, growing spiritually, and serving faithfully in my placement.
