Es gibt immer etwas, wofür man dankbar sein kann

Eigentlich sollte Louis seit April 2020 bei uns im Kirchenkreis Dortmund ihren Süd-Nord Freiwilligendienst absolvieren und im Volunteershouse wohnen. Aufgrund der Covid-19 Pandemie konnte Louis bislang noch nicht nach Deutschland einreisen – wir hoffen nun, dass Louis im Januar 2021 ihren Freiwilligendienst bei uns beginnen kann. Hier schreibt Louis, wie es ihr mit dem langen Warten geht und was sie in der Zwischenzeit macht:
Hallo. Mein Name ist Louis aus Indonesien. Ich bin 22 Jahre alt. Meine Hobbys sind Malen, Bücher lesen, aufarbeiten und wandern. Die Covid-19 Fälle wachsen sehr schnell. Es gibt eine Menge Auswirkungen in so vielen Bereichen, und dazu gehört auch mein Flug nach Deutschland. Anfangs ärgerte ich mich ein wenig, weil ich wieder warten muss. Aber dann hielt ich an und schaute mich um. Ich merke, dass mein Problem nicht so groß war im Vergleich zu Menschen, die aufgrund dieser neuen Pandemie ihren Arbeitsplatz verlieren. There is always something to be grateful for

Louis was supposed to be volunteering with us in the church district of Dortmund since April 2020 and would be part of the team in the Volunteershouse. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Louis has not yet been able to enter Germany – we now hope that Louis will be able to start her voluntary service with us in January 2021. Here Louis writes about how she is dealing with the long wait and what she is doing in the meantime:
Hallo. My name is Louis from Indonesia. I am 22 years old. My hobbies are painting, reading books, working out and hiking. Covid-19 cases grow very rapidly. It gives a lot of impacts in so many areas include my flight to Germany. At first, I a little bit upset, because I have to wait again. And then, I stopped and looked around. I realize that my problem was not that big compared to people who lose their job because of this new pandemic.
