Louis Purba aus Indonesien wird die nächste internationale Freiwillige in der Kontaktstelle Evangelische Jugend. Derzeit wartet sie auf eine Einreise nach Deutschland – und bereitet sich vor, in dem sie Rezepte aus deutschen Kochbücher ausprobiert.
Ich liebe Essen. Aber ich bin nicht wirklich gut im Kochen. Vor allem liebe ich asiatische Küche, weil es eine Menge Gewürze enthält und es eine Menge Zeit braucht, um zuzubereiten. Asiat*innen lieben einen reichen Geschmack, der bitter, sauer, würzig und süß enthält. Während die europäische Küche sich entweder auf salzig oder süß konzentriert. Deshalb möchte ich versuchen, vor meinem Flug nach Deutschland europäische Küche zu kochen. Weil es so anders ist. Und am wichtigsten ist, dass europäische Lebensmittel Weizen bevorzugen, während asiatische Lebensmittel dazu neigen, Reis zu verwenden. Telefonat mit der Kontaktstelle Evangelische Jugend

Louis Purba aus Indonesien plant, einen Freiwilligendienst in der Kontaktstelle Evangelische Jugend im Kirchenkreis Dortmund zu machen. Die Einreise nach Deutschland musste schon mehrfach verschoben werden – so ist das in Zeiten einer globalen Pandemie. Die ursprüngliche Einreise lag im April 2020, dann im Mai, dann Juni, dann Juli, dann wurde auf Januar 20201 verschoben, und nun wird April 2021 angepeilt. In der Zwischenzeit hat Louis aber regelmäßigen Kontakt zur Kontaktstelle (wie der Name schon sagt). Hier berichtet sie von einem gemeinsamen Video-Telefonat:
„Am 28. September 2020 hatte ich ein sehr nettes Gespräch mit Lisa, Jenny und Melina. Wir sprachen über Zoom. Ich war ein bisschen nervös, denn das war mein erstes Mal, Jenny und Melina persönlich zu treffen. Im Laufe der Zeit fühlte ich mich aber wohler, weil Jenny und Melina so freundlich sind. Jenny und Melina werden meine Kolleg*innen in Dortmund sein, und sie zeigten mir das Büro der Evangelischen Jugend Dortmund und zeigten mir auch den Raum, in dem ich nächstes Jahr arbeiten werde. Es war wirklich aufregend. Ich sah ein großes Fenster in der Nähe meines Schreibtisches, es machte mich ungeduldig, dorthin zu gehen. Ich konnte die positive Energie rund um das Büro spüren.

Louis Purba from Indonesia will be the next international volunteer in the Kontaktstelle Evangelische Jugend. She is currently waiting to fly to Germany – and is preparing to try out recipes from German cookbooks.
I love food. But I am not really good at cooking. Especially to cook Asian cuisine because it contains a lot of spices and it takes a lot of time to prepare. Asian love rich flavor that contains bitter, sour, spicy, sweet. While European cuisine focuses either salt or sweet. That is why I want to try to cook European cuisine before my flight to Germany. Because it is so different. And most importantly, European foods favor wheat, while Asian foods tend to use rice frequently. So that, when I arrive in Germany I already get used to it. (mehr …)
Talking to the Kontakstelle Evangelische Jugend

Louis Purba from Indonesia plans to do a voluntary service at the Kontakstelle Evangelische Jugend in the church district of Dortmund. Entry to Germany has already had to be postponed several times – this is the case in times of a global pandemic. The original entry was in April 2020, then in May, then June, then July, then postponed to January 20201, and now April 2021 is targeted. In the meantime, however, Louis has regular contact with the contact point (as the name suggests). Here she reports on a joint video phone call:
„On September 28, 2020, I had a very nice conversation with Lisa, Jenny and Melina. We talked about zoom. I was a bit nervous because this was my first time meeting Jenny and Melina in person. Over time, however, I felt more comfortable because Jenny and Melina are so friendly. Jenny and Melina will be my colleagues in Dortmund, and they showed me the office of the Evangelical Youth Dortmund and also showed me the space in which I will work next year. It was really exciting. I saw a big window near my desk, it made me impatient to go there. I could feel the positive energy around the office. (mehr …)
