I have just returned home after being at the North Sea island of Juist for one week. There, together with three colleagues from my placement, the Evangelische Bildungswerk Dortmund, I accompanied a mother-child-grandmother's leisure time. My colleague Gerda told me before, that I should buy a white t-shirt and take It with me. She told me we would dip the t-shirt during our time in Juist in beautiful colours. I couldn't imagine what we were doing exactly, but I bought a t-shirt.

Batik: Eine alte-neue Technik auf der Insel Juist

Gerade bin ich von einer Woche auf der Nordseeinsel Juist zurück gekommen. Dort habe ich gemeinsam mit drei Kolleginnen vom Evangelischen Bildungswerk eine Mutter-Kind-Großmütter Freizeit begleitet. Meine Kollegin Gerda hat mir schon vor der Freizeit gesagt, dass ich mir ein weißes T-Shirt kaufen sollte und mitnehmen sollte. Dann können wir das T-Shirt auf Juist bunt gestalten. Ich konnte mir das nicht vorstellen, was wir genau machen, aber ich habe mir ein T-Shirt gekauft.

Ein Bibel- Museum voller Überraschungen.

Das Beste kommt immer unerwartet. Kurz nach einem Mittagessen mit Pfarrerin Christina fragte sie uns, ob wir ihr Büro besuchen möchten. Christina arbeitet als Regionalpfarrerin in der MÖWe, eine Einrichtung, die nicht nur nach dem Tier Möwe benannt ist, sondern die auch die Abkürzung ist für „Mission, Ökumene und Weltverantwortung“ in der Evangelischen Kirche von Westfalen. Mit null Erwartungen waren wir einverstanden und gingen zur Werkstatt Bibel, einem Museum, das auch im selben Gebäude wie die MÖWe ist, aber zu einer anderen Abteilung der westfälischen Kirche gehört. Als wir eintraten, sahen wir eine große Wand, die über und über mit kleinen Schriftzügen voll war. Ein Schritt näher und ich war überrascht, als ich sah, dass die ganze Bibel an der Wand gedruckt war! Ja, du hast es richtig gelesen ''DIE GESAMTE BIBEL ''.

A bible museum with many surprises.

The best of things, always happen unexpectedly. Just after a lunch date with pastor Christina, she asked us if we would like to visit her office.Pastor Christina is working in the MÖWe, the German word for the animal gull, but also the name of the Office for Mission, Ecumenism and Global Responsibility in the Church of Westfalia. With zero expectations we agreed and left to ‘The Werkstatt Bibel’. A museum, which is also in the same building of the MÖWe, although it belongs to another department within the Church of Westfalia. As we entered we saw a big wall with small lettering all over. A step closer and I was startled to know that the entire Bible was printed on the wall! Yes, you read it right ‘THE ENTIRE BIBLE’. The Old and The New Testament. Our faces were delighted with surprise but that wasn’t all.
