Dortmund ist meine Lieblingsstadt

Dortmund ist eine richtig schöne Stadt. 580.000 Menschen leben in Dortmund. Die Gegend, in der Dortmund liegt, heißt Ruhrgebiet. Die Ruhr ist ein Fluss, der die Region prägt. Man sagt, dass Dortmund das Zentrum vom Ruhrgebiet ist, aber der Fluss Ruhr fließt nicht durch Dortmund. Die Menschen in Dortmund sind sehr freundlich und nett, natürlich nicht alle, etwa 70% der Menschen sind freundlich zu mir. In der Stadt, wenn ich den Weg mal nicht kenne, (mehr …)

Kaum zu glauben, aber in diesem Frühjahr geht schon der zweite Jahrgang im Internationalen Volunteershaus in Dortmund an den Start. Rindola: eine Stadt ohne Internet.

Es war einmal eine Stadt namens Rindola, in der Menschen wie du und ich im Jahr 2018 lebten. Der einzige Unterschiedzu einer Stadt wie Dortmund im Jahr 2018 bestand darin, dass die Menschen in Rindola kein Smartphone, kein Internet und keine Medien hatten. (mehr …)
Deutschunterricht enthüllt tiefere Bedeutungen.

Die allererste Frage, die deutschsprachige Leute stellen, ist, woher Gentille so fließend Deutsch spricht. “Wie viele Monate hast du Deutsch gelernt?“ Wenn Gentille dann „9 Monate“ sagt, sind sie sehr erstaunt. Einer der Hauptgründe, warum Gentille und ich die Sprache so schnell gelernt haben, liegt an unserem Lehrer Tom Laengner.
Obwohl wir anfangs getrennten Unterricht hatten, besuchen wir jetzt gemeinsam den Unterricht, was bedeutet, dass unser sehr geduldiger Lehrer zwei verschiedene Male in zwei verschiedenen Sprachen, in Englisch für mich und Französisch in Gentille, übersetzen muss, (mehr …)

Seit ungefähr vier Monaten mache ich mir Gedanken – diese Fragen, die in meinem Kopf entstanden sind, habe ich, seit ich die Zeichnung von meiner Freundin Hannah aus Indien gesehen habe. Wir waren Deutsche in Paris.

Eine der Erfahrungen, die ich mein Leben lang schätzen werde, wird von nun an unsere 10-tägige Reise nach Paris sein. Gentille und ich machten uns direkt nach Weihnachten auf die Reise – es war eine langweilige 10-stündige Fahrt im Bus von Dortmund in die französische Hauptstadt. Dortmund is a really nice city, 580,000 people live in Dortmund. The area in which Dortmund is located is called Ruhrgebiet. The Ruhr is a river that characterizes the region. It is said that Dortmund is the center of the Ruhr area, but the Ruhr river does not flow through Dortmund. The people in Dortmund are very friendly and nice, of course not all, about 70% of the people are friendly to me. It’s hard to believe, but this spring will start the second year in the International Volunteers House in Dortmund. While some of us are already at the end of our one-year volunteer service, and some of us have been able to extend their time in Dortmund for another six months, others are preparing for their voluntary service in Germany from 10,000 km away. German class unveiling deeper meanings

The very first question German speaking people ask Gentille when she fluently flaunts her German is ‘’for how many months have you been learning German?’’ when she replies ‘’ just 9 months ‘’ their eye balls widen. One of the main reasons why Gentille and I have been gasping German so quickly is because of our teacher Tom Laengner.
Though initially we had separate classes, now we attend classes together, which also means that our very patient teacher has to translate two different times, in two different languages, in English to me and in French to Gentille, which is not as easy as it sounds. (mehr …)

We were Germans in Paris

One of the experiences to cherish for my lifetime would always be the 10-day trip to Paris. Gentille and I geared up for our travel the very next day after Christmas, it was a boring 10-hour travel in the bus from Dortmund to the French capital, we stayed at Gentille’s relative’s house at Paris.
