Hallo ihr alle, mein Name ist Carol Naidu, du ich komme aus der Stadt Nagpur in Zentral-Indien. Ich lebe dort mit meinen Eltern, meiner jüngeren Schwester Zoe und dem noch jüngeren Bruder Ethan.
Zur Zeit arbeite ich an meiner Bachelor-Arbeit in Büro-Organisation. Da ich im letzten Jahr meines Studiums bin, bin ich nicht verpflichtet, zur Hochschule zu gehen. Daher war ich sehr aufgeregt, als mir die Möglichkeit gegeben wurde, ein freiwilliges Jahr abzuleisten und habe sofort bei meiner Hochschule nach Erlaubnis und Freigabe gefragt, die ich auch erhalten habe. Bisher war ich noch nie außerhalb von Indien, so dass ich sicher bin, jetzt eine Gelegenheit zu haben, neue Menschen und verschiedene Kulturen kennenzulernen, neue Erfahrungen zu machen und mich als Person weiterzuentwickeln.

„Was ist deine Heimat? Glaubst du, du kannst mehr als ein Zuhause haben? “Interessant. Diese Fragen wurden mir eines Tages in einem Interview nach einem Sonntagsgottesdienst gestellt. Allerdings hatte ich an diesem Tag einen anderen Gedanken: Ich habe nicht so gedacht, wie ich normalerweise denke, wenn ich an zu Hause denke. Creating meeting places in the neighbourhood is an important task for the Dortmund Integration network „Local Wilkommen„. Lokal Wilkommen is operated by the City of Dortmund and the Caritas, the main focus lies in the integration into the city society to people who already live in their own apartments in Brackel and Aplerbeck areas. This includes support in all areas of life, e.g. search for a German course or the possibility to do Voluntary services in language cafés, leisure activities or tutoring. Another main focus is to strengthen neighbourly coexistence. „Local willkommen“ works with different organisations such as church congregations, associations, and with sports clubs.
