Global Youth Faith Event #GYFE21

Das Global Youth Faith Event hat mich während der ganzen Woche, die wir vom 4. bis 11. Juli 2021 zusammen verbracht haben, sehr glücklich gemacht. Wir haben während dieser Zeit im Volunteershouse in Dortmund verschiedene Aktivitäten mit Jugendlichen aus Dortmund sowie anderen Jugendlichen aus verschiedenen Ländern Afrikas, Asiens und Europas durchgeführt – online und offline. Das Größte für mich war, dass wir uns jeden Tag ab 17 Uhr im Volunteershouse vor Ort und digital im Einklang mit anderen zusammenfanden. Dort haben wir dann verschiedene Rezepte aus den verschiedenen Ländern der oben genannten Kontinente gekocht. Wir haben Essen aus Namibia, Sambia, West Papua, Deutschland, Kenya und anderen Ländern gekocht. Es hat mich sehr gefreut, da ich vor Ort in Dortmund die Möglichkeit hatte, verschiedene Gerichte zu probieren. Dank GYFE ist es mir gelungen, diese unterschiedlichen Geschmäcker kennen zu lernen. Meine erste Arbeitswoche

Ich arbeite in der „Kreuz-Grundschule“, einer großen Schule in der Kreuzstraße in Dortmund. Ich beaufsichtige die Kinder und beschäftige sie nach dem Unterricht, solange sie darauf warten, dass ihre Eltern sie abholen.
Die letzte April-Woche, ab Montag, 23.4.2021, war meine erste Arbeitswoche an meiner Einsatzstelle. Am allerersten Tag hat die liebe Carolin mich begleitet, um mir einen guten Start in den Job zu erleichtern. In der Schule wurden wir herzlich begrüßt von der Leiterin Kim und ihren Kolleginnen. Die Reise und meine ersten Tage in Dortmund

Wir freuen uns sehr, in Europa zu sein, genauer gesagt in Deutschland. Wir kamen am 23. März 2021 in Deutschland an. Es war ein Mittwoch. Wir sagen Gott Ehre, dass er uns auf unserer Reise beschützt hat. Mein allererster Fuß auf deutschem Boden – und alles war neu für mich. Am internationalen Flughafen Düsseldorf wurden wir von Carolin Daubertshäuser, Frauke Linke und Dirk Loose herzlich begrüßt, die uns zum Volunteershaus in Dortmund begleiteten. Am selben Tag brachte uns Carolin einige Dinge im Haus bei, einschließlich der Benutzung der Toilette, Dusche und insbesondere der modernen Küche, die viel Aufmerksamkeit erfordert. Unsere Zimmer sind sehr schön und gereinigt.
Meine erste Beobachtung ist, dass ich herausgefunden habe, dass die Zeit in Deutschland am meisten respektiert wird, und dies nach ihren vier verschiedenen Jahreszeiten, was ihnen die Gewohnheit gibt, das Wetter zu respektieren, weil sich die Arbeit im Winter nicht so gut entwickelt wie im Frühling und Sommer, das sind die Perioden, in denen es notwendig ist, viel zu arbeiten, um die verlorenen MPS wiederherzustellen, die besonders im Winter verloren gehen, weshalb das Sprichwort lautet: „Zeit ist Geld“.

The Global Youth Faith Event made me very happy during the whole week we spent together from July 4th to 11th, 2021. During this time, we carried out various activities in the volunteers house in Dortmund with young people from Dortmund and other young people from different countries in Africa, Asia and Europe – online and offline. The biggest thing for me was that we got together digitally in harmony with others every day from 5 p.m. in the volunteers house. There we cooked different recipes from the different countries of the above mentioned continents. We have cooked food from Namibia, Zambia, West Papua, Germany, Kenya and other countries. I was very happy because I had the opportunity to try different dishes on site in Dortmund. Thanks to GYFE I was able to get to know these different tastes. Thanks to GYFE, we have formed a large intercontinental family during this time – the most perfect thing in human life. So just the second day, Monday, when we shared the Bible in Psalm 31, I really enjoyed it. I had three verses that touched me deeply and that let me know that the miracles and love of God for us surpass anything. Those verses were Psalm 31, verses 2, 16 and 25.

My first week of work

I work in a school called „Kreuz-Grundschule“, a large school working in Kreuzstraße 145, Dortmund 44173.
I supervise the children, I keep them busy right after class, waiting for their parents to come and pick them up.

About the travel and my first days in Dortmund

We are very happy to be in Europe, precisely in Germany. We arrived in Germany on 23 March 2021. It was a Wednesday. We say glory to God for his protection. My very first foot on German soil – and all things were new to me. At Düsseldorf International Airport we were warmly welcomed by Carolin Daubertshäuser, Frauke Linke and Dirk Loose, who brought us to the Volunteershaus in Dortmund. In that same first day Carolin taught us some notions about the use of household goods including the toilet, shower and especially the modern kitchen which requires a lot of attention. Our rooms are very nice and cleaned.
My first observation is that I discovered that time is the most respected thing in Germany, and this following their four different seasons of the year which gives them a habit of respecting the weather, because in winter, the work does not evolve well as in spring and summer which are now the periods in which it is necessary to work a lot to recover the you mps lost especially during winter, which is why the saying goes „time is money“.
