On 7th February 2020 we had a birthday party for Josephat in the volunteers‘ house. Some friends came to the house and we had inter-cultural food collection. We prepared food of Asian and
African origin and our different friends enjoyed the moments. We also watched a short film which starred one of the previous dwellers of volunteers‘ house; Gentille Neema Mironde.
We watched it together and at last Gentille who was watching with us, had to explain a little bit about it.
It is a short film based in Africa and it was shoot in DR Congo and Rwanda using Kinyaruanda, Kinande and Kiswahili languages, The You Tube video has English Subtitles. The main theme of the film is Climate protection and its surroundings also raising awareness of peace in the Great Lakes region displaying the beauty land of Maliboto, which is a created name. It enlightens the importance of all people to play that crucial responsibility.
The film was recorded within one year and three months to completion. Its preparations was led by young people who offered their talents, time and money to their bests to produce it. That is to say the Film depended entirely on the local fund and local artists. The target was to share this message in the Cinema Festival. However Gentille pointed out that the group is in the processes of searching to secure more fund for greater Film projects.
The short film with only 15 minutes is called THE BEAUTY OF MALIBOTO and can be watched in YouTube under this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xlvzfSR9fw
