by Jason-Lee from Namibia

Hi Everyone so let me share with you all my how my time has been in Germany so far its been 3 months since i arrived. I am from Namibia born and raised in Windhoek.

I decided to take the next step in my life and join the UEM volunteers program. I am so honored to be part of the volunteers program. My expectations was beyond my imagination, a very beautiful country with spontaneous views and adventures to take on. The people in Germany is beautiful and very caring and loving. I have a few challenges and one of them is that your family is not with you, you are on your own in a different continent and country so your responsibilities is much more then back home. But you get a new family in Germany and make a lot of friends.

My flight was the best part of it all even though I was so tired when I landed and i was welcomed with so much love at the airport. They assist me with everything and making sure I am settled and comfortable.

I love staying with the volunteers in the volunteers house and we are very comfortable with each other and do a lot of things together and yes of course we have out bad days but it makes our bond stronger we become family.

So far i have traveled a few cities in Germany which is, Wuppertal, Dusseldorf, köln, Schwerte and the best if it all was Borkum Island with my workplace. Borkum Island was one of the best so far because I could have the chance to work with amazing young people.

As for my workplace I am so happy with my Colleagues and what i do in my workplace. I have the best work ever. I enjoy and love what i do at Kontakstelle and Studio 41.

Last but not least, Germany is a dream true to me. Germany is so advanced and have the most beautiful cities to visit and experience. To conclude I will advise many young people to live life to the fullest and enjoy, love, forgive and be kind always. Every chance you get is a blessing so do as much as you can. All my love.
