We went to Berlin with a group of Protestants. We were invited by the participating pastor retired Ulrich Strunck. A Reformation service was first celebrated together in Berlin. We had a lot of fun and got along with lovely people. We are a total of 13 people. They were very nice to us (volunteers). We stayed in Berlin for 3 days. Personally I have so many wonderful memories of this historic city (Berlin).

On the first day, we went to Berlin Cathedral and had a Reformation service there. With its distinctive shape, the Berlin Cathedral is one of the main crowd-pullers in the federal capital. From the dome of the cathedral, you have a 360 ⁰ view of the historic center of Berlin and I think this was mega beautiful. Then we went to the Brandenburg Gate. The Berlin landmark and symbol of the broken separation was created in the years 1788 – 1791. After reunification, the pre-war structure was restored. Then we went to the German Historical Museum. The German Historical Museum combines history with the present in two fascinating buildings. Unfortunately we could not go in because it was already closed.

On the second day, we drove to the church and attended the church service of the community Berlin Weißensee. Then we had a reception by the community with a small snack. In the afternoon we visited the Jewish cemetery in Weißensee. In the evening Louis and I met our friend in the Vietnam restaurant. Then afterwards we visited Berlin TV tower. The landmark of Berlin, the Berlin television tower, measures 368 meters and is, therefore, the tallest structure in Germany. We were happy to see the city center.

On the third day, we visited the Stasi prison. The former central prison of the GDR State Security Service (Stasi) has been almost completely preserved. Between 1945 and 1989 tens of thousands of political prisoners were imprisoned there, including almost all known opponents of the communist dictatorship in East Germany. In 1990 the prison was closed forever. Then in the evening, we left Berlin Hbf for Dortmund. We have a lot of experience and are happy about it.
