Hello Everyone, greetings from a little town in North Sumatra, Indonesia.My name is Derio Hizkia Purba and people called me Rio for short. I am 23 years old and I love going to church,that’s why during the day I don’t believe in ghosts. During the night I become a bit more open minded. I am a former student of Mechanical Engineering at Jakarta State Polytechnic, so people sometimes called me Mr.Engine for I love fixing things. In my spare time, I love listening to classical music, I also learn to play the piano and am not very good at it but I just love playing at home with my family. Organ is one of the instruments that interested me a lot, I played the organ for Sunday service and enjoyed the hymn.
I am a member of HKBP (Huria Kristen Batak Protestant) and Thanks to God that I have the chance to work as a volunteer in a parish located in dortmund. I sometimes give myself admirable advice when learning how to speak in German, but I am incapable of taking it 🙂 I realize that I still have a lot of gaps to fill as the time to learn is limited. But that doesn’t stop me from learning more German every day and I hope that living there will help me improve my knowledge.I hope that during this program I can make a lot of friends and gain more amazing experiences.Additionally, I am really excited to learn about new cultures. fun fact that in indonesia alone there are 11.000+ different cultures. and yes! i have the chance to meet brothers and sisters coming from different countries, Amazing isn’t it? Furthermore, if i had to describe myself in one word, it would be bad at cooking. Haha :))My arrival date is scheduled for the early days of April this year 2024.
