Before I came to Germany, I heard the history and geography of World War II, but I did not know exactly how it had started, what the course were, and so on. I understood that the whole idea and development of the war took place in Germany, and here I had the opportunity to go to the Documentation Center of the „Reichsparteitagsgelände“ (from the party NSDAP) in Nuremberg. It was a very impressive visit. One day before the visit there was a presentation about Nuremberg and how the neighborhood around the station became the center of activities of the dictator Adolf Hitler.

When we arrived at the Documentation Center, we all got a map with information – for example, all the buildings and grounds on the map were numbered. a stadium for meetings, a convention hall, a Zeppelin stand and much more.

It was a pity that we did not have much time on the grounds. I would like to go there again and have more time to experience and learn more, I recommend all South-North volunteers and all people in Germany, to drive to Nuremberg and to learn about the history. Why? Because the knowledge of the past can help us, so that these mistakes and wars of the past does not happen again in the future. There are always dictators in this world. They have a different name today than they used to, but they still want power for a certain group. If we know about the past, then we can prevent these people from coming back to power in the future. I think that’s a job for all of us.

Today I wonder where are dictatorships in the world today and I think that there are not only dictatorships in politics but also in religion, finance, commerce, communication and the media. At the seminar we learned that Germany today is import and export world champion after the USA and I have learned that Germany also exports many weapons and armaments. The newspaper DIE ZEIT wrote that in 2018 it was worth 5 billion euros worth of weapons and armaments. What exactly do they export and why so much?

Of course, I think that there is also a positive development, e.g. in town planning and construction of new houses. There is certainly good cooperation between the government and the people in Germany, which differs from other countries and a big difference to other countries is certainly that the German government has its military under control. Since 1945, that is more than 70 years, there is no war in Germany.
