My name is Frida Bolumbu, I am 25 years old and I am coming from the Democratic Republic of Congo. Since the year 2020, I am licensed in management of health institutions, although until now I have not yet had the space for working.
I am a leader of the choir and technician of the Adoration Group in the Bolenge Parish in the DR Congo. I love to sing, playing foodball (well, a little bit) and other things. And also I like to eat a lot of things, but not so often fruits. When I am in Dortmund, I hope we will from a great choir in Dortmund.
With this volunteer program, I will be able to share my experience and knowledge while gaining new skills during my stay and service.
I am sure that when I return to my region and my church, I will be an enrichment, passing on my experiences gained in Germany and bringing new ideas for the care and development of the youth.

Ich bin Diakonin und arbeite mit Erzieher:innen. in Kindertageseinrichtungen und in der Schule zusammen.
Du wirst ja in einer Kindertageseinrichtung arbeiten. Da haben wir also auch einige Gemeinsamkeiten.

I am sure you will enjoy your time here in Dortmund! A lot of nice people, nice foods, nice places! I eat a lot of Fufu(Ugali) here, i like it so much. Georges, volunteer from DRC, likes to cook Fufu. You can find some African shops here, so no worries when you miss Congolisch food. The weather also nice (but not in Winter :D). This winter there is no snow, so sad. But I hope next winter there is snow when you are here.
