The love of my life walks on 4 legs, breathes heavily often, expresses his love by licking my face, loves food and long walks, listens to all my stories patiently by wagging his tail. Yes! I am talking about my Dog ‘SCAR’, who is 2 years, lives at Chennai, India.

My little ball of fur, calm and quiet to other you may seem little did they know the mighty little brat you were and little did I know that when I picked you up from that box of puppies, you would later become family.

Oh! how you would act like you have fits when you needed a piece of what I ate. I hated when you jumped on me early mornings before I even woke up and that Is exact same thing that I miss right now. I still remember how you slept inside your water bowl the first day at home and I also remember how you waited every day for me to return home, just to push me down and lick my face. Sometimes It was just your presence that made everything better. Saying goodbye to you at the airport was one of the hardest things I have ever done. Now, I have your picture printed on a pillow right next to my bed. I think about you when I see other happy dogs here, on the street. I miss coming home and not having you around me.

Here’s to the puppy treats you eat, my chicken legs you steal, to the long walks, to the snuggled hugs, the play bites and the infinite love.

Volunteering at Germany, has been an amazing experience, the hardest part is to miss our loved ones and not having them beside us. But the bond and Love we share is worth every mile between us. This reminds me of the quote ‘Always together never apart, may be in the distance but never in the heart’.
